I am a Senior Researcher (Directeur de recherche; DR2) at the CNRS, attached to the Institut de Mathématiques de Jussieu (Paris VI/VII).
Most of my research centres on the study of the number, growth and distribution of discrete objects in algebraic structures. I am a number theorist by training, and my interests range throughout number theory, group theory, discrete mathematics and several other subjects.
Mathematics and AI
My blog post Mathematics and the AI crisis appeared on 1 October 2026, shortly before the OpenAI onslaught of 6 October. I think it has held up well; I deliberately refrained from forecasting and focused on analysis instead.

You can read my CV in English and French. I keep my publication list separate, both in English and French.
