This five days conference to be held at the CIRM centre (Marseille), from Monday 4th till Friday 8th June 2007,  will be the principal meeting in 2007 of the Research Group GDR "Tresses et topologie en basse dimension". The conferences will start on Monday morning and finish on Friday after lunch. The purpose of this meeting is to bring together researchers working in the closely related fields of braid groups and low dimensional topology around two mini-courses of 3 hours each which will be complemented by 4 one-hour conferences and 20 half-hour talks. The two mini-courses are as follows:


MINI-COURSES

Peter Ozsvath (Columbia, USA)
"Heegaard Floer homology and knots"

Bernhard Muhlherr (Bruxelles)
"Coxeter Groups"

Participants are invited, if they wish, to propose a presentation. The remainder of the program, 4 one-hour conferences and 20 half-hour talks, will be chosen among the proposals by a scientific committee consisting of the following people:

REMARKS The number of participants will be strictly limited and it is therefore possible that we will not be able to accommodate all requests to attend. If this situation arises, however, a waiting list will be established so that places may be filled in case of cancellations. A list of participants and the waiting list will be communicated in March 2007.

A registration fee of 80 euros will be requested of each participant. This amount may be reduced if the budget allows.
