Cooperation with India
Two nice tools allow for exchanges between Indian mathematical centres and CNRS:
- an indo-european Action Marie Curie (IRSES moduli) granted to the following institutions: TIFR in Mumbai, IMSc and CMI in Chennai, IISc in Bangalore, ICMAT in Madrid, Aarhus university in Danemark, Oxford university in England and CNRS. In particular, it addresses to researchers from one of the four above indian centres willing to visit a CNRS unit in France or to invite members of those in their institute. Its thematics revolve around the various aspects of moduli spaces in arithmetic, geometry and physic, but it stops end of 2017. It offers till that date support for stays lasting one month or more through a payment proportional to the duration of the stay (on the basis of 2000 euros for 30 days). Travel expenses are covered by the home institutions on either side.
- and a more classical Laboratoire International Associé (LIA) of CNRS dubbed "Indo-French Program for Mathematics" (IFPM covering most of the mathematical domains). This has been launched on the long term, with the purpose of supporting meetings, visits and exchanges for collaborations between researchers from all mathematical centres in India and members of CNRS units.
