Cohomological Arithmetic Chow Rings

  In this article we develop an abstract formalism to construct arithmetic Chow groups, that depends on the choice of a cohomology theory in the archimedian fibre. The flexibility of a cohomological approach allows us to derive several generalizations of the theory of Gillet and Soulé. In particular one of these generalizations takes into account line bundles equipped with hermitian metrics which are logarithmically singular along a divisor.
