Groups in action:
from representations and harmonic analysis on Lie groups to index theory
A meeting in honour of Michèle Vergne's 80th birthday
4-8 September 2023
Institut de Mathématiques de Jussieu - Paris Rive Gauche (IMJ - PRG)
The aim of this meeting, which celebrates Michele Vergne's 80th birthday, is to bring together mathematicians working at the interface of harmonic analysis, representation theory and index theory, with group actions as a leading thread throughout the conference. We expect that the different areas of expertise and the different views on these topics will lead to a fruitful exchange on current research topics. The meeting will be organised around the following topics:
- Group representations,
- Index theory, geometric quantisation,
- Moduli spaces, symplectic geometry, mathematical physics,
- Polytopes, optimisation and P=NP.
