Hello! My name is Juan Ramón Gómez García. I recently completed and defended my PhD at Université Paris Cité, under the supervision of Adrien Brochier and Emmanuel Wagner. My thesis is available here, and the slides from my defense are available here.

My research focuses on Quantum Topology, with a particular emphasis on skein theory with defects. Currently, I am also investigating categorified quantum link invariants and their connections to q-holonomic systems. If you find any of this interesting, don't hesitate to drop me a line!

From October to December 2026, I will participate in the Quantum Topology, Character Varieties and Low-Dimensional Geometry long program at the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM). Starting in January 2027, I will be a postdoctoral researcher at Université Bourgogne Europe in Dijon.
